Tegmen is the business operation of Jane O’Grady and Nigel Wing. Over the years we have done a number of things including Health and Wellbeing, Farming, Information Technology Consulting and helping in the transition to a sustainable economic and social framework.
Our farming philosophy is to obtain a useful yield from a mixed farm while minimising external inputs.
Our farm is on French Island. As there are NO services and because transport on or off island includes a ferry or barge trip inputs are a big deal.
We have some steers, walnuts and remnant vegetation.
On the farm we also have bees and a veggie patch.
In June 2001, Tegmen Osteopathy was established in Suite 204 at The Block. At that time, Osteopathy in Victoria was regulated by the Osteopaths Registration Board. Tegmen Osteopathy’s principal, Jane O’Grady, was the 250th osteopath registered in Victoria.
Since 2011, Osteopathy has been regulated nationally by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. The register is available to the public online – see Links page.
Jane O’Grady completed the Bachelor of Science (Clinical Sciences) degree at Victoria University of Technology in 1998. She completed the Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) at the same institution in 2000. She participates in assessing student osteopaths in bi-annual clinical practice examinations.
Jane is a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association, and served as Victorian State secretary in 2003 – 2004.
In 2009, Jane completed the two year Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching at CAE. Since graduating, she has taught yoga in community houses, rehabilitation programmes, and at Tegmen. She has attended 4 day intensive workshops with Donna Farhi and with Judith Lasater.
Jane is a member of Yoga Australia, the professional association of Australian yoga teachers and therapists.
