Yoga

Jane O’Grady first encountered yoga in her teens, and has been a regular student since 1998.  Her teachers have encompassed a spectrum of Yogic lineages, with the Satyananda tradition a strong influence.

In 2009, she completed the two year Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching at the CAE (Melbourne).

Osteopathy provided the impetus for Jane to pursue a formal Yoga teaching qualification.  She found herself drawing on her yogic practice to answer the Question Frequently Asked by patients: “Can you show me a stretch to help me recover from … (reason for seeking osteopathic treatment)…”

The goal of yoga may be described as the experience of the union of the individual self with the universal Self.  In yoga classes , Jane seeks to harmonise elements of asana (poses), pranayama (breathing), relaxation and meditation.  These techniques may enhance both wellbeing and self awareness in students.
